The room gets three stars from me, but the service gets none. I stayed one night and found the room spacious, with the essentials, and just a three-minute walk from the train station. There's no air-conditioning, so it can feel warm. With the window open, people shouting and talking late at night were disturbing; with it closed, the room was quiet and comfortable. The real letdown came at check-in. On the 16th around 9 PM, the receptionist asked me to pay on arrival. I had a travel card that lets me pay in my national currency at the same rate, but she charged me in PLN without asking. That meant unnecessary bank fees for me. It felt unprofessional and inconsiderate of my preference, and spoiled what was otherwise a flawless stay.

The staff were polite and helpful, and when my hairdryer wasn't working properly, they replaced it straight away. The rooms are clean, the atmosphere is friendly, and the location is handy, two minutes from both the train station and Galeria Katowice. There are lots of nearby cafes and restaurants, though there's no breakfast or mini fridge. My first room was on the second floor facing the road, and it was noisy until 24.00 and again after 05.00. I asked to move to the other side of the building. In that second room, the bedding didn't fit the bed, and the toilet seat was smaller than it should be. The first video shows a room on the first floor facing the road. The second shows a ground-floor room facing the courtyard.

I checked in after midnight and paid by card, and everything went smoothly despite the late arrival. The staff were very friendly. For a short stay in Katowice, I highly recommend it. My single room was excellent, with good bedding and no problems with the shower or bedroom. I was on the second floor overlooking a busy, noisy street, but the sound insulation was perfect. There was also a bottle of water, tea, coffee and a kettle, simple extras that many places seem to be leaving out nowadays. It's very central, near the main streets, train station and conference center, with plenty of public transport close by. Probably among the best value accommodation in Katowice.

There are plenty of cafes and shops nearby, and the 24-hour reception is handy. The apartments are clean and the rooms fully equipped, with both the train and bus stations close by. If your window faces the street rather than the yard, you will notice the noise. All in all, a good choice.
