The price felt fair for what we got, and the staff were kind and helpful. Our room was clean and simply equipped, though there was no kettle or tea to make a drink in the room. Breakfast was served buffet-style. One thing to be aware of: on chilly evenings and nights, even in April, smoke from fossil fuels and rubbish being burned at neighboring houses caused terrible pollution. We kept the windows closed when leaving to see the local attractions.

The reception closes at night, and it seems you need to check in before 10pm or you may miss it. Some booking sites give the wrong distance to Kazimierz Dolny square: it’s almost 4km away. There is a pleasant green route by the river if you’re up for a 30-minute walk. The rooms are good value, and breakfast was quite nice.

We were given a partial refund, bringing the price down to that of a two-person room, so I’ve rated it two stars. We had booked a four-person room but arrived to find sheets for only two people. By the time we noticed, around 11pm, there was no staff member around. Also, all the ground-floor exits from the main staircase were locked, which could have trapped people in a fire or other emergency and seemed contrary to fire safety rules.

The staff were really nice, and both the room and breakfast were good. The room was clean, and the food tasted great.
