Rockus Superior Zakopane Apartments

The views are beautiful, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. There’s no Wi-Fi, and the place isn’t properly equipped despite assurances that it is. The grill area is shared by all the apartments, so you have to wait your turn. The jacuzzi is usually occupied, and when it does become available, the water is only 34-36°, which isn’t cold but doesn’t make for an enjoyable soak. At checkout, they try to charge extra through the app without giving confirmation. The amounts range from 50 to 400 PLN, and they come up with various reasons to get money from guests. If something goes wrong, there’s nobody you can call. They ignore you until the last day, then say it’s your problem. Checkout is by 11:00, but at 10:15 an unpleasant woman showed up without asking and demanded money for old, damaged furniture that was already like that when we arrived. There are many better options around.

We stayed in apartment no. 1, and the balcony view across the mountains was stunning. The rooms were clean, well kept and had everything we needed, and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly. There’s a bus stop nearby, with buses running constantly to Zakopane and back to Chochołów for 5 złoty per person. Zajazd Tatrzański is also close by, with good food and friendly service. The free jacuzzi is great, though the sauna beside it is a bit pricey. I was searching around without much direction and ended up finding the right place. Highly recommend it.

Groszek is nearby, with Lewiatan and Żabka a little farther away. It’s a great base for hikes, and the jacuzzi is nice for relaxing afterward, though it only gets cleaned when certain guests leave. If everyone stays for, say, four days, nobody comes to clean it, so it isn’t always clean. The listing photos are outdated, too. Another house is being built next door and blocks some of the view. You can still enjoy the surroundings from the balcony, but current photos would be good. There’s also a garbage problem: there seem to be too few bins or they aren’t emptied often enough, so trash is piling up beside them.

The trails are a dream, and the jacuzzi is unlimited. Karolina, the resident, is lovely and helpful. The place was clean, with beautiful views and a great location.
