I’ve travelled through 44 countries on 5 continents, and after more than 30 years of travel this was the worst hostel I’ve stayed in. My son and I needed one night in Krakov, and it was the only available place in the area we needed. The place was filthy and smelled awful. The beds and mattresses need replacing, and it needs fumigating. Taps, lights, and shower heads also need fixing. The owner came across as rude, greedy, and lazy, and seemed to think cheap accommodation can be dirty. It also should offer male, female, and mixed dorm options. I felt the owner didn’t care about female travelers and just wanted to cram as many people as possible into tiny spaces for more money. Dirty, smelly, and broken in so many ways.

WiFi was painfully slow, and the customer service felt sketchy. They tried to sell me the most expensive room even though I didn’t want it, then later said cheaper rooms were available. During my first 2 nights in winter, the room was so cold that I had to sleep in a jacket, and the heater itself was cold.

The photos seem to be from another time. It smelled so bad that we had to sleep with the windows open just to breathe, and the staff were rude. The pillows and blankets were worn out and smelled too, so I slept in my clothes and used clothes as a pillow. This was the worst place I’ve stayed for a night, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

We arrived late and tired, otherwise we wouldn’t have stayed. Cleanliness and hygiene were at zero, the beds were very uncomfortable, and there were spider webs everywhere. The curtains looked like they hadn’t been washed in ages. Food cooked in the shared kitchen downstairs could be smelled in every room. We didn’t use the sheets, quilts, or duvet covers. They were gray, and it seemed they were given to new visitors without being washed or replaced. Beyond bad.

The toilet, bathroom, and kitchen were okay, but I didn’t feel very safe leaving my luggage for long because there were no locked doors or keys to the building. The bed was hard, and the duvet was too small and thin for winter.
