Best Western Plus Krakow Old Town Hotel

Everything was within walking distance, and tour pickup was close by. The rooms were quiet and nicely decorated. Breakfast had a great choice, and the staff were lovely, cheerful, and helpful. The bar is small, with high seats that aren’t always good for elderly guests. There aren’t any pubs in the area, so there wasn’t another choice. Shame there wasn’t more space, though it was nice and friendly. Reception recommended an excellent restaurant a few doors away, with amazing art and waiters wearing red shoes.

We visited in February and found the rooms a little hot, but the air conditioning sorted that out. The hotel is close to transport links and the attractions you’d want to see in this gorgeous city. Rooms are large and very clean, breakfast is varied and well made, and the hotel is superbly managed. Many attractions are easy to walk to. For places further out, like the salt mines or Auschwitz, the train you need is literally five minutes from the hotel. Trams are two minutes away on foot and give access to the aircraft museum and shopping areas. Fantastic hotel, well worth staying at.

Breakfast was a real highlight, and yes, it was included. The walk into the old town runs beside a lovely park, while the river trail was close enough for my run. It felt ideal to me, away from the busiest streets but still perfectly placed. Ella at check-in was quirky and so much fun, and checkout was just as cheerful. The room had great hot water and a comfortable temperature. There’s no refrigerator, just a minibar that stays slightly cool. Parking costs extra, though it’s convenient. We loved our stay.

We’d definitely come back. The restaurant is worth a try too, with tasty local dishes, and breakfast had delicious hot options that changed each day for different tastes. Staff were so polite and helpful. Our room was comfortable, clean, and tidy, with housekeeping every day. The old town square is only a five-minute walk away.
