Dada Premium Aparthotel

The apartment was dirty and seemed neglected, perhaps even vandalised, with a constant rotten egg smell. For £400, it felt like a complete waste of money, and I can’t recommend the place or see myself returning. We’d booked a “premium” apartment at the top of the building, but the lift was out of order, so we had to carry luggage up 96 steps. The uneven, deep, narrow stairs were dangerous to carry our cases down at checkout, too. At arrival we got a PIN to access a card, which would let us into the room once it was ready. During our five-night stay there was no housekeeping, and we didn’t see any staff until checkout. None of the bins were emptied, which was especially inconvenient for a group of girls needing the bathroom bin for sanitary reasons. We got just three cheap toilet rolls, and they were replaced only once, after we asked. Towels were changed once, and the bedding never.

The location is very handy, near several tram stops, Old Town, and lots of restaurants and shops. The rooms are spacious and nice, my bed was comfortable enough, and the bathroom was large with good fixtures and materials. From my balcony I had a peaceful view of the alley behind the building. I did have to call to get the entry code, which cost quite a bit even with an international plan. The 10AM checkout was especially early. A note on the wall said to contact them and leave a five-star review if I wanted a later checkout, something I’d happily have done if they hadn’t asked for it. You can hear people stomping around at all hours, though that’s not really the hotel’s fault. Bring good earplugs and maybe a white noise machine.

The rooms are spacious and very nice, and getting in and out was easy. They also let you store your luggage. Wawel castle is nearby, the Jewish area is even closer, and transportation is right around the corner.

We had a wonderful stay at Dada and would definitely come back. The beds were really comfortable, the hotel was very quiet, and our lovely, clean rooms were a great size. It’s also well placed for both the Jewish quarter and the main square. We were a little unsure about booking without a reception, but as soon as we landed, they sent all the entry and room details by WhatsApp. The lift was broken when we arrived and our room was on the third floor. I’d developed some mobility issues since booking, so we left our cases in our friends’ room and messaged Dada. They quickly replied that they were actively working on the lift and offered to move us to the first floor. Perfect.
