Hostel Centrum-Krakw

The location was the one good thing, close to the Market Square and most monuments. Instead of the double room I expected, I was first given a triple room with a shared bathroom. The room was cold, and the window looked out onto awful rubble. There wasn’t a wardrobe or closet, so getting things out of our luggage was difficult. No TV or even a radio, and the toilet kept running.

It’s easy to find and affordable, with rooms that are okay. The staircases with railings have a nice atmosphere, and there’s a summer garden plus a dining room in the basement. The location is the best part, between the Market Square, Wawel Castle, and Kazimierz. Wi-Fi is pretty weak, though, and doesn’t reach even 15 meters from reception.

The room was filthy, an absolute disaster. Used toilet paper from the previous guest was beside the bed, and there was a wet roll on the bathroom floor. We also found hairs on the pillows in the second room. We’ve never seen a hotel room this dirty. Anyone arriving after midnight has to ring the bell. We handed back the key right away and moved to another hotel.

The rooms were in decent shape, apart from a leaking roof. The dining room was a disaster, and the basement smelled musty. It flooded while we were there, so we had to eat in another resident’s private room. The receptionist wasn’t very friendly, and we got no compensation for the trouble. A solid 2/10.
