The apartment was spacious, beautiful and comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, fridge, stove that can also work as a Shabbat hot plate, and tasteful, practical furnishings. It’s right by the Rema synagogue, the old Jewish cemetery and other important sites. We also learned there are larger apartments for families of up to six, with a large table for Shabbat meals, a big fridge and an oven. We’d love to return with our extended family. The team was thoughtful about religious needs. They turned off the automatic stairway lights before Shabbat, so we wouldn’t have to activate them, and the place is especially suitable for guests who keep kosher or observe Shabbat. Their care started before we arrived. When I ran into a booking issue, staff patiently helped me for a long time until it was sorted. Since I’d booked during the war in Israel and worried flights might be canceled, they let me cancel without charge up to three days before arrival. That flexibility meant a lot. They answered all my many questions kindly, and when my flight was delayed, they stayed past normal check-in hours to welcome me in person, even though self check-in was available. They said they wanted to greet me themselves, and kept asking during the stay if they could help with anything else. I stay in many places around Europe, and this was truly one of the best experiences I can remember. Huge thanks to the wonderful staff. We hope to return very soon!

The rooms were clean and new, and the host was friendly. The location is literally perfect, close to the centre and bus stops. I wouldn’t recommend staying in the city for more than two days, though, as there isn’t really enough to do.

We were told there’d be a bathtub, but there wasn’t one. The beds were small, not very clean, and mine was so short that my legs hung over. The listing mentioned free wifi, but there was none. Someone entered our room while we were out without telling us. They only changed the toilet paper and didn’t do the cleaning that was supposed to be done. Afterwards my belongings, including electronics, had been moved, and the medicine I’d left almost full was empty. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The location was the one good thing about this place. The rooms are basic, which is fine for a 2* hotel, but the advertising was misleading. The AC was positioned so it cooled the corridor, with no airflow reaching the rooms. The kitchen pans were worn and had no lids. Two of the three kitchen lamps had broken bulbs, and none of the lights in the damaged kitchen hood worked. Someone entered our room while we were away, and I’m not sure why, since it definitely wasn’t for cleaning. I don’t assume bad intentions, but if room service isn’t advertised, I expect nobody to come in when I’m out. The double bed was a joke, small and folding, with a trench down the middle instead of one continuous surface. From the terrace you get a close view of other buildings and restaurant smells. Wifi was available but wouldn’t connect to the internet, or maybe there was a hidden hotspot, but we were only given the password.

We had the apartment just off the balcony. It was a great little place, with lots of space, a double bed in the main room and two singles in the bedroom. There was also a small kitchenette with facilities and a nice bathroom. It’s in the Jewish section, not far from the old town, and the other way across the river takes you to schindlers factory and the old Jewish Ghetto.
