The room was convenient and in a great spot for bars, restaurants, the flea market, and more. The rooms have an old-fashioned, quaint style, but banging doors, inconsiderate guests, and workers caused lots of sudden, startling noise. Breakfast isn’t provided, though there are plenty of cafes and restaurants downstairs. Earplugs are supplied for outside bar noise, which might be an issue in summer, but at this time of year the noise inside was worse. Sad to say, people are selfish.

We spent our evenings playing Uno, which we ended up buying because the apartment didn't have a TV. That was the only real drawback for me, and it didn't spoil the stay. The place was spotless and roomy, with comfortable beds and chairs. The hosts were easy to reach and answered our questions. It overlooks Plac Nowy, so the front bedrooms can be a little noisy, though earplugs were provided and I didn't need mine. I wish we'd had the downstairs room with the big windows; our top-floor windows were oddly placed, and those stairs were a bit of a challenge. I'd definitely stay here again if I return to Krakow.

My courtyard-facing room stayed fairly quiet from outside, though the hard floors meant I could hear other guests on the stairs and opening and closing doors. With the late-running market and all the bars opposite, the front-facing rooms might get quite loud at night. The curtains also let in the early morning light, but there is air conditioning. The property has a distinctive look, with tiled floors, broad wooden staircases, and traditional wooden figures throughout, many of them Christian. The rooms are a decent size, the beds reasonably comfortable, and some toiletries are provided.

The house was noisy at night, with footsteps, movement, and shaking that even earplugs couldn't block. It sometimes felt as if the whole staircase was trembling. Since you don't know who else is staying there, the thuds made me uneasy, and I had trouble sleeping. The nearby bar might have caused some of it, but it still felt disruptive and a little unsafe for hotel-style accommodation. The location in Kraków's lively Jewish Quarter is excellent, and the room was clean and quaint. Check-in and checkout were flexible, and the place is cute and fairly affordable. The toiletries could be better than the single-use packets, though. I'd have liked more face-to-face contact with staff, who are only on site for limited hours, when guests may be out. They're available by phone, but meeting someone would have made the place feel more cohesive and perhaps safer. They tried to call me after I booked by email, even though I'd said my cell service was limited. There's room for improvement.

I was really happy to stay at Kolory Guest House. The staff were friendly and dependable, and my room was comfortable with everything I needed. It's in a lovely area, close to the city centre. Nothing but good things to say, I'd recommend it!
