Dinner was generally good, but breakfast was poor, with a limited selection. All the yogurts were past their dates, the bread was stale, the cheese seemed as if it had been sitting out for days, and the juice machine dispensed mouldy water. Our room was missing basic things like a bin and a safe. The bed sagged badly in the middle, the doors had white stains and didn’t lock properly, and construction noise kept coming through the poor soundproofing. We could hear the people next door. It’s all right for one night, but I wouldn’t recommend staying longer.

The hotel is quite close to the university, and the staff were helpful. Breakfast came with the stay and offered enough choice. We had a room with a large shared balcony, handy for a cigarette break. The shower was a bit old, and the room felt a little cold. Still, I’d recommend staying here.

It used to be a pretty decent hotel, but lately it’s gone badly downhill. The inconsistency is part of the problem: one receptionist was absolutely lovely, while another, just 12 hours later, was totally incompetent and rather arrogant. The manager was worst of all. They didn’t speak English and ignored a guest’s request for portable heaters, even though the rooms weren’t warm enough. The bottom. Never again.

The staff were attentive, the rooms comfortable, and the food excellent. It’s a really nice hotel with a distinctly Polish feel. It sits a little outside the centre, but the tram and bus connections are good. I hope to stay here again.
