Turnau City Aparthotel

Apartment 228 was beautiful, with two good double rooms, a nice bathroom, and a great open-plan kitchen, living, and dining space. The location is brilliant, about a ten-minute walk from the Old Town. Communication with the host was great, and I couldn't fault the stay. We'd definitely return.

The rooms were okay and the location was good, but this place really wasn't worth the hassle. We arrived on the first night and couldn't get in, standing outside for two hours past midnight. The booking number didn't exist, and other guests were locked out too, so all of us had to book a new hotel for the night. The next day, when we still didn't have the gate code because our phones were dead, the grey-haired receptionist with glasses threatened to call the police. The internet barely works, and neither does the hot water. We paid extra for a balcony and didn't get one. For what we paid, we expected things to be straightforward and some help. The staff were rude. If you want a kind, helpful place with beautiful rooms and a good location, I'd recommend PURO down the road. AVOID TURNAU!!!!!

It was an apartment with self-catering on the fourth floor, facing the street. The walk to the Old Town was 25 minutes, which isn't bad, but the place is tucked into a corner where people rarely go. I wouldn't call it the best or the worst, but I'd give it at most 2.5/5. Google only lets me give 3/5. The worst part was the light coming through the bad blinds. The sun woke us at 5, 6, 7, and 8 in the morning. We had only two pillows and two small quilts, and my partner and I struggled because I sleep with my head higher than usual. The cleaners didn't do their job, and when I left rubbish on their trolley because there was nowhere explained to put it, they got angry. An angry Ukrainian woman raised her voice and asked why we'd put rubbish there. We said nobody had explained where it should go. We hoped someone would at least mop the apartment, but that wasn't included, and there was no mop or brush for us to use. They need to improve the cleaners' attitude or replace them, provide a brush and mop, and install better blinds.

The room was okay and in a good location, but customer service was shocking. We got to the place we'd been directed to with no key code, and the reception number was wrong. At 10 pm, just off the plane with a child, we were stuck for 45 minutes until two lovely Polish people helped us find where we were meant to be.
