Hotel Mercure Krynica Zdroj Resort & Spa

The rooms were really fine and the parking was great. The location was good too. Breakfast was weak, but okay. Not all wellness facilities are included in the price, and the saunas cost extra. There was no cooling barrel.

The hotel is in a village with plenty of winter sports activity, and it's a five-minute walk to the centre. The pool is really good and free to use, while spa activities cost extra. A comfortable hotel.

Hotel Motyl had only recently opened when my wife and I stopped in Krynica Zdroj on our trip to Poland, after finding few rooms elsewhere. It was a pleasant walk to the main square, though a bit of a distance, and the hotel cost more than average. The place was remarkably clean and well furnished, with modern windows that open and spacious balconies. Staff were friendly and helpful. As in most hotels in town, knowing Polish helped. We didn't eat every meal there, but the dishes we tried were very good. I still remember the trout in aspic. I'd recommend it without reservation if the location and price suit you.

The food could have been more varied, especially at breakfast, and served a little hotter. The dressing gowns also need replacing. Even so, we were really happy with our stay. It's a very nice spot for a winter holiday, with comfortable rooms, pleasant staff, good wellness facilities, and convenient underground parking, which matters in this city.
