Great spot.

From the hotel, just cross the street and follow the promenade to the dam. Our side-facing room looked toward the cable car, and it was clean, spacious, and had a big balcony. Parking came with the room, though it was a bit of a headache at weekends. Kids also have a play area, outdoor slide, and swings. The inside looks much better than the exterior, which could put you off at first, so it's worth having a look for yourself. Breakfast was fine if you're not picky, with something hot available. We skipped dinner since there are so many bars nearby. We'd recommend it.

The romantic dinner was the standout. Flowers, wine, tasty food, and lovely presentation, plus separate dishes for the children. We all left full and happy, so thanks to the restaurant staff for a wonderful meal. We did book the romantic package, but on arrival the room had only been prepared for one person. They fixed that quickly and apologized. Another surprise was that it came with two breakfasts but just one dinner. That's not a major issue, though the package description didn't say the dinner was only for one person. The hotel feels about right for two stars. Bathroom facilities are decent, and the bedding is generally acceptable for that rating. There was soap but no shampoo, and a kettle but no tea bags. The hairdryer could use a dusting. I'd recommend it for the reasonable price, good value, great location, and especially that romantic dinner.

The room itself was very nice, and the view of the dam from the third-floor balcony was fantastic. You can bring a dog, which is great, though they hadn't provided a food or water bowl. We could hear every word from the couple next door through the thin walls. The hotel is right by the dam entrance, but the parking lot is cramped, and the parking attendant was a real jerk. He drove me into a snowbank of icy snow, then said to move forward because it was only snow. My bumper lip cracked in all that snow, and he told me, "You're panicking." Service, room appearance, food, and location were all great, but the restaurant meals cost a lot. Breakfast was an extra 40 PLN per person and wasn't worth it. It's a buffet with very little choice: scrambled or hard-boiled eggs with mayonnaise, sausages, ham, cheese, tomato, cucumber, bread, a roll, mini croissants, tea, and coffee. No juice.
