Our family room was enormous, with two bedrooms, a dining table, kitchen, and living room. A few dishes were missing, but we managed without them. We were in town for Christmas, and it gave my husband’s large family another place to gather, which we enjoyed. The owner was very nice. When the heat stopped at midnight, she came over despite the late hour. My husband and she got it working, and it was fine after that. She also came back with fresh baked bread for us. If you have a problem, you need to let her know. For visitors who don’t speak Polish and haven’t been to Lubań before, bear in mind it’s a small town. Hotels may not speak English, and reception may not always be staffed. If you speak Polish, you can call when you arrive. Otherwise, I’d message ahead to arrange your arrival time and use Google Translate.

I gave up my reservation at another hotel in Luban so a family and their children, who’d been double booked, could have my room. I booked this hotel at 9 am because it showed availability, but when I arrived at 9 pm, the place was completely dark and closed, with no lights on or cars in the parking area. I called the emergency numbers posted on the doors, shouted up to an open roof window, and contacted booking.com. They replied nearly 24 hours later to say the hotel had been closed and they’d forgotten to remove its online availability. I later read many reviews on booking.com describing the same thing, with travelers arriving after hours on the road to find nowhere to stay. I ended up sleeping on the floor in my friend’s room at the original hotel. Read those reviews before booking. There’s a real risk you’ll arrive to find it closed, even with a reservation.
