Hotel Piano

I’d happily stay here again next time I’m in Lublin. It’s a bargain for the quality, and being a little outside the center is peaceful. There’s a lovely park stretching for miles, plus good cycling paths to a lake about 3 miles away. There aren’t many restaurants, coffee shops, or bars nearby, so you’ll need transport. Buses are an option, but Bolt rides are so cheap in Poland that I found them easier, though my Polish friends would probably disagree with my free spending. There’s no proper hotel bar, as the restaurant closes early. A supermarket opposite stays open until 11.45 and sells cold beer, but without a room fridge you’d have to drink it quickly, which I wouldn’t recommend since Polish beers are around 1.5-2% stronger than strong UK beers. My room was very large, with big windows, a modern spacious bathroom, a desk, and a couple of chairs. The bed was large and exceptionally comfortable, really all you need in a hotel. It was cleaned daily, and everyone, from reception to restaurant staff and cleaners, was polite and pleasant. There was no fridge at first. I was told they didn’t have enough, but one was found and brought to my room on day three. For a hotel of this caliber I’d expected one, though with energy costs as they are, I’m not complaining. I was also told only second-floor rooms have safes. Nothing was stolen and I wasn’t especially worried, but I had around 300 pounds in cash, spare cards, and my passport in the bedside drawer. I was comfortable doing that here, though not in hotels in some other countries. There was a checkout mix-up. They kindly extended checkout to 2 pm, but reception didn’t double-check and called me to leave at 12.30. It wasn’t a problem since I was packed and about to visit a friend, and the receptionist apologized. The late checkout was just a precaution in case I’d had too many beers the night before. The hotel is an absolute bargain for what you get. There’s really no need to stay in central Lublin when cabs are so cheap. A quality hotel a bit outside the center makes more sense, then you can take a cab whenever you want to go into town.

The restaurant serves great food at reasonable prices. I had the best lamb I’ve ever tasted. The hotel is modern and clean, the staff are great, and I’d stay here again.

My wife and I held our wedding banquet at Piano, with a served dinner and then a buffet for the rest of the party. Piano specializes in business meetings and smaller events like weddings and family gatherings. It was the first wedding for both of us, and we hope it’ll be the only one, so the professional, client-focused approach and quick, easy communication were a relief. After talking with the Manager and meeting the Chef, we started to feel at ease. With the Chef’s guidance, we settled the menu in just two days. The other details, including table setup, flowers, music, parking, and so on, took a few more days. As things came together, we felt more and more that we’d made the right choice. The big day was a pleasure: all the dishes were perfect, the waiters were on time, and the projector, WI-FI, and audio all worked great. The alcohol and other drinks were served at the right temperature and in the right quantity. I highly recommend the place for business meetings, family gatherings, or wedding parties. And the breakfast was a tour of Polish cuisine with local inspirations.

I’ve been here many times and they always impress me. The food and drinks are consistently amazing, made with high-quality ingredients. Eat here and you won’t be disappointed!
