Dune Resort Mielno - A

We spent 8 days here with our two children, aged 6 and 8, in a modern, well-arranged apartment in building A, facing east with a partial sea view. It had one bedroom plus a combined living, sleeping, and dining area, and the place was clean and perfectly adequate for the four of us. The location is excellent, right on the beach and close to the busy area. We'd come back, but next time we'd choose a pool-facing room or one looking straight out to sea. There was a construction site right in front of us, which apparently will be the next big thing in the coming years ;-). Nobody mentioned it before we booked. They were using a jackhammer from 7:30 a.m., so the next day we asked about moving. The reply was that it wasn't their construction site, so they weren't responsible and didn't have to tell us about it. The same unmotivated woman at reception seemed annoyed that we'd interrupted her at breakfast. The kitchen was very sparsely equipped, with no ladles, spatulas, tongs, or other cooking utensils, so we couldn't cook for ourselves. That was disappointing because the website advertises this, and Booking.com calls it a fully equipped kitchen too. At check-in, a very unfriendly woman showed no interest in talking with us. We tried English, but she either couldn't or didn't want to speak it. When we asked about German, she rolled her eyes and handed over the keys without another word. She only told us how to get from the underground garage to the apartment, so we had to work out the rest ourselves. We're used to a different kind of hospitality in Poland. The apartments themselves were modern and clean, and we had no complaint about that. The location is perfect, even with the construction, but service in Mielno can be much better.
