Hotel Mragowo Resort & Spa

The restaurant manager and waitress were great and welcoming, though the front desk and bar staff seemed a bit unfriendly. The food was overcooked, but not too bad. In a place this large, you might feel like the only guest around. There was no manual lock on the room door or peephole, and several things were broken, including the bathroom lock and reading light. The thermometer had gone missing from its case. We weren't allowed to use the air conditioner, even though it was 20 degrees. A resort stay with a unique experience.

The food was very good, which was one bright spot. We came for a week with family and tennis, but the old post-communist hotel, despite some renovations, had things that didn't work: a faulty lamp that couldn't be repaired and access cards that kept demagnetizing even when kept away from phones. The grounds were dirty, and the tennis courts were poorly maintained, with rubbish around and basic things like chairs missing. Midway through our stay, they held a conference without warning us about the changes. Dining was moved to a small lobby room while conference guests used the restaurant, and the kids were sent to the basement through an area with trash. We only found out what was happening after it happened. Conference guests were loud at night, drunk people knocked on doors, and there were a couple of other issues I won't get into. We couldn't sleep with the window open because the room was near the entertainment area, where an ashtray was placed and cigarette smoke kept coming in.

There are plenty of things for children here, including playgrounds, game rooms, and kid-friendly pools, though many cost extra. Bowling is about 20€ an hour. Most pools are shallow, around 90 cm, while a separate 20-metre lap pool is deeper, reaching 1.5 m. In winter, the heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi are especially pleasant. The location has a lot to offer families, but I don't think it's worth about 180€ a night: the hotel prices don't match the interiors or restaurant food, and the rooms and interiors don't feel like a four-star hotel. The food was my biggest disappointment. Most dishes weren't tasty, and half didn't even look appealing enough to try.

When I asked one of the workers for a drink, he screamed at me. I asked him to speak politely, and he said, “I will beat you, I got nothing to lose, I’m already illegal here, and police can’t do anything for me”!!!! I don't recommend visiting a place that hires illegal people!!
