The owner was friendly and easy to talk to, and the room was clean with nice decor. The location is very good, right at the start of the promenade. I recommend it.

The location and lovely window views are what make this place worthwhile. The rooms are clean and tidy, though small, and the guesthouse itself is pretty ordinary. The beds were unbelievably uncomfortable. I’m not fussy, but honestly, I slept better on the floor with a blanket. Getting upstairs to the top is nearly impossible because the stairs are so steep and narrow. Still, it does the main job, so I’d recommend it.

The large, enclosed balcony overlooking the lake was a definite plus. The decor was modest but adequate, and there was a TV. The bed was uncomfortable, and there wasn’t much privacy from the curtains, which didn’t fully cover the window. The room smelled strongly of chlorine and was dusty, with spiders in the bathroom and dead flies on the lampshades. For the price, I expected better. There was a reservation problem from the start, as our name wasn’t on the list when we arrived. Service was lacking too: one day, we found only toilet paper and a garbage bag at the door, so we left our bag there for two days. It was almost impossible to get in touch with the staff or owner. We saw the owner once during the week, and she seemed very opinionated, condescending, and generally unpleasant.

I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who needs a secure reservation. I booked a room with a terrace and lake view by phone, then called several times to confirm. When we arrived, we were given a different room, without a terrace and overlooking Kajka Street, which wasn’t acceptable. A middle school kid greeted us, visibly anxious and repeatedly calling his mother, the owner. She said the same room had been double-booked by mistake, offered a 20 złoty discount, and told us “not to freak out.” There’s no barbecue area or even somewhere to sit in front of the “residence.” If it’s your first visit to Mikołajki, I’d look for somewhere nearer the sailing village, where the town is buzzing with life.
