The meals in the railway building were the one bright spot: very good, with quick, friendly service from the staff and cook. They seemed a little like summer camp food, but that was fine. Everything else was a letdown. There’s awful damp in the building, and the rooms are badly cleaned. The bedding is poor and the carpets are dirty. The bathrooms are reasonably clean, but shelves are broken and the drains and faucets leak. If there’s a maintenance worker, they must be missing the problem: the tile streaks and limescale suggest it’s been leaking for a year. The facility hasn’t changed much since communist times, and the grounds are badly neglected. The grass wasn’t cut this year, the bushes weren’t trimmed, rainwater runs down the walls, and the gutters are damaged. It’s a shame, given the great location.
