Hotel Ksiaze Poniatowski

The staff were helpful and polite, so I don't think the problems were their fault. But the place was gross and uncomfortable. There was black mold on the ceilings, window frames, walls and in the showers. The mattress was stained and covered in hair, wallpaper was peeling, dust was everywhere, and the toilet smelled nasty. Management should take the cleaning standards seriously. This was unacceptable in 2022. Breakfast was very poor, with almost no choice beyond bread, eggs and random sausages. There was one edible salad, but it looked like it had been sitting in a fridge for a few days. The interiors look imperial and royal, but don't be fooled by the good reviews or that appearance. If you've stayed at a Hilton or Holiday Inn, these standards will disgust you. What's the point of trying to look rich and royal if it's so unpleasant to be there? Poniatowski would turn in his grave.

We felt like royalty at our wedding here, and all our guests were truly delighted. It's a great wedding venue, with a distinctive old Polish style, professional service and lots of attractions.

The place was basically empty on Sunday morning and advertised breakfast, lunch and dinner by the roadside, but they refused to serve anyone who wasn't staying at the hotel. The lazy staff must think their employers can keep paying wages with shirt buttons. Another Polish hotel that seems to think service means refusing to provide any.

It's a pretty place, full of splendor, if that's the atmosphere you like. The wedding service, though, wasn't so good. My wife had ordered the “wege fish” from the menu but didn't get it. When I asked a waiter if we could have fries for her instead, he just said, “We'll see.” I had to ask another waiter, apparently because they were short on fries. I spoke to other guests and unfortunately they had similar experiences. The waiters seemed tired, which might explain their apparent anxiety.
