The staff were so friendly and happy to help with translations. A lovely hotel.

The desserts were a letdown too, just store-bought meringue with so-called pistachio or mascarpone sauce. I started out hoping for a beer, but although beer was on the menu, staff said they didn't have the ones we asked for. We ordered something else, then I spotted a fridge packed with beers and soft drinks. The beers they'd said weren't available were there in quantity. Three different people wanted a beer, and that was the response. I was there as a restaurant guest, and the service was chaotic. Four people served us during the meal without checking in with one another. I test a new place by ordering beef roulade, which is typical in Silesia. The menu was very limited, and staff said there were no roulades. Most of the main courses were chicken, so I settled for the daily żurek (sour rye soup) and pork chop. The żurek was basically water with a potato, and the child-sized pork chop seemed reheated from the day before. While I was struggling with it, I found out roulades were available after all, but the staff hadn't known. I don't even know whether this is still a hotel, since I didn't ask. The meal was a disaster. I would have walked out if I hadn't been a guest. This is for the owners: even if you've only just started, you need to get things in order and make a lot of changes, or you'll be out of business quickly.

The place is self-service, which suited us, and when I phoned with questions the owner answered straight away. We'd read reviews saying it was hard to reach the host, but that wasn't my experience. My daughter and I were delighted, and we'll definitely come back. I haven't found this kind of quality elsewhere for such a low price. It's a handy city-center base, with shops, a 24-hour restaurant and a bus stop for getting around Silesia. Our room was clean, with its own bathroom, comfy bed, fresh linens and towels. The TV had plenty of channels and the Wi-Fi worked. There was also a spotless, well-equipped kitchen beside our room, with a fridge, kettle, microwave, coffee maker and dishes. Coffee, tea, sugar and honey were there for guests too. Thank you!
