Apartament Claire

We come back every year, mostly because the entrance to the fair is only about 50 meters away. Shops are close too, which helps since meals aren't included. There's a kitchen where you can make your own food, and the apartments are spacious because they're in a tenement building. Some things need attention, though. Cleanliness can be hit or miss, especially in the bathrooms. One shower has no cabin, just a disgusting rag that sticks to your butt. Some beds feel like they're from another era and are very uncomfortable. There's also only one ironing board for all the apartments, so getting to use it is a real battle. And please replace those slippery, satin-like artificial sheets with traditional ones. They're impossible to sleep under.

The rooms are large, and the shared kitchen makes it easy to cook any meal. The gas stove and microwave come in handy, and the place is generally clean and tidy. Parking is the one drawback: the zone is paid during the day. But this is the city center, and you can leave the car for free on Matejki Street, the adjacent cross street.

We always get a warm welcome, whether I come on my own or with my husband and children. It's a lovely, atmospheric place near the markets, park, and palm house. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the breakfast is delicious. We love it and will definitely return.
