Getting the mystery holiday through Wowcher was difficult from the start. Travelodeal were rude and unhelpful. I’d already landed in the holiday country and still had no instructions for getting into the accommodation. When I called, they kept me on hold for ages and were rude before finally giving me the details. Very unprofessional. The booking called this a 3 star place, and I expected at least a clean apartment. The bed sheet smelled musty, the room windows were full of dead flies, and the toilet wasn’t even fixed to the floor. My partner and I booked a hotel and left straight away. This was one star at best. I contacted the property and all I got back was “sorry,” nothing more. Cleanliness is the bare minimum I expect from a holiday, and we didn’t even get that.

The reception team were great about check-in and check-out times, and the apartments were clean, nice, and had private bathrooms. It’s in a good location too. What we didn’t like was the smell of cigarettes inside our apartment and the staircase, which was always dark. We didn’t try breakfast, so I can’t comment on it.

The noise was awful, both from upstairs and the street, and I had a really bad stay. It was hard to find the place, tucked away in a forgettable little corner, and it didn’t look as nice as the photos. The combination lock was awkward to use, and there was no elevator, so we had to keep taking the stairs. There wasn’t a washing machine in the room or ventilation in the bathroom. The cooking cupboard right beside the bed was a strange design, and the salt and pepper shakers were empty and hadn’t been refilled. I won’t come back.
