Malta Premium Hotel

The late night music kept us awake, and the whole stay was such a waste of money that leaving early in the morning felt like a relief. The owner’s rudeness made us want to get out, and after the check-in encounter we avoided the hotel as much as we could. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels while traveling, but this was the worst experience I can remember. The man handling check-in was aggressive, arrogant, rude, and ignorant, and it took a lot of patience to deal with him. That’s not what I expect from an overpriced hotel. We wanted to be near the lake, but getting there means a long walk. You can’t cross the busy road directly, so you have to go farther to the main traffic lights, cross there, then walk through the park. If being close to the lake matters to you, I’d look elsewhere for somewhere nearer, with better customer service. Please avoid this place. Don’t put yourselves through the kind of awful stay we had.

Breakfast had a good range of choices, and we’d definitely stay again. Our two bedroom apartment was spacious, nicely decorated, and very clean.

This is a good value, small, privately run hotel that tries to provide the features of a bigger chain. It was organized and clean. The neighborhood can seem a little off putting, though it’s pleasant and quiet at night. There’s free parking available.

After a long drive, I arrived tired and pregnant and went to reception to check in. The man there pointed at the wall clock and said, “Check-in time is 3 pm.” It was only 20 minutes before three, not hours early. A polite member of staff who respects guests might check whether the room is ready, or offer to store the luggage and get in touch once it is. Instead, I got that ridiculous response. He did eventually give us the key and we went up to the room, but the way he handled it was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. One man spoiled the whole impression, and he shouldn’t be working with customers.
