Hotel Pikul

The thing that stood out was how clean both the hotel and my room were. It's a pleasant place, but some management issues need attention: the lift was out of order and the ironing board on level two was broken.

I’ve stayed at four different hotels in Pulawy, and Pikul has the best rooms and breakfast by comparison. Friday nights can get a bit loud because it's disco night, but they have rooms away from the ballroom that stay quiet. My first five-star impression changed during a longer booking. When it rains, clogged gutters make the water pound on the building so loudly I can't sleep. Maids came into the room despite the do-not-disturb notices, and twice we were given rooms that smelled of cigarettes. The staff didn't respond properly to our complaints, so I lowered my rating to one star. After speaking with Wojtek at reception, I decided to leave it at four stars. He promised to sort out all the problems before my next visit.

For a hotel officially rated three stars, I'd give it an easy 3.5, maybe stretch to four. The price is fair and the rooms are nice, with working Wi-Fi. I just wish the TV's HDMI port were easier to reach. Breakfast fell short, since it wasn't replenished or kept warm enough. Still, at that price, my group and I were content enough with the stay.
