We couldn't sleep because a neighbor's dog barked outside at night, and the thin walls let every hallway noise through. The room was hot, but there was no remote control to turn on the air conditioning. Half the outlets didn't work, the light was too dim, and there was no wastebasket or small hand towel. The receptionist barely spoke English.

The setting and grounds are gorgeous, and the people were super friendly. There's a child-friendly playground, plus swimming and water cycling. The food was absolutely excellent. The rooms have no air conditioning, the WiFi is well below average, and there aren't proper curtains, which was frustrating.

The wedding food, which I assume the hotel catered, was exceptional, and all the staff provided great service. A few had some trouble with English, but it wasn't a problem, and we didn't have to rely on my Polish. The grounds are well maintained, with nice walks by the lakes and through the woods, and the peaceful setting made a beautiful backdrop for the wedding we just had there. Rooms are well priced and clean, though a little basic, and the place seems to have been refurbished recently and is in good condition. There's no lift, and breakfast is in the basement, so getting there from an attic room on the third floor means quite a few stairs.

The food is premium quality and good value. The hotel is tucked away from the main roads, and there's a really interesting small hydro power plant and eco education center.
