Mala Anglia Boutique Apartments & SPA

We went in July for our wedding anniversary and came back to Sopot after visiting once for just a couple of hours. It's a stunning spot on the Baltic, around 25 minutes from Gdansk. The hotel has a quirky feel, and the rooms have enough facilities to do some self-catering. For the rate we paid, the pool and spa were both very good. Breakfast takes a bit of learning: the portions are enormous, and you gradually figure out to order less. Guests can also borrow electric cars for free. They're a blast.

I recommend this place. It's a real gem with a distinctive atmosphere and a lot more character than the often dull hotels around it. The room decor is artistic and beautiful, the breakfasts are excellent, and the whole hotel is full of interesting features and extras. That abundance is impressive, though it also makes me worry that things could stop working over time if management doesn't really understand the concept, with repairs done hastily instead of properly. A few things were already out of order during my stay: the automatic doors, shower light, and iPad. The bedside lights didn't always respond to the control panel either. The front desk staff didn't seem fully familiar with the Google speakers in the rooms. For example, they didn't know there were two or where to find the instructions. These may be small issues, but with so much technology, I'm concerned they could become more common. Still, it's definitely worth seeing and has huge potential.

I've visited Sopot plenty of times and parked outside this hotel before, always assuming it was nothing special from the outside. Inside, though, it was stunning. The rooms and spa area were fantastic, as were the pool, sauna, and jacuzzi. Breakfast came with the stay and was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it's a great place to unwind or use as a base for excursions. Nothing to complain about. It's a shame the rating only goes up to five stars, because it deserves more. 😀

The relaxation area was a highlight: pool, loungers, jacuzzi, and sauna were available at all hours. It was clean, uncrowded, and had a cozy feel. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful. Our room was spacious, beautiful, and clean, with surprisingly comprehensive equipment. The location is great, a short walk to the sea and a little farther to the city center. Breakfast was fresh, tasty, plentiful, and offered lots of choice. I highly recommend it :)
