Eskapada

We spent a week at Eskapada in Szklarska Poręba and felt at home right from the start. The owners were warm, helpful and clearly put a lot of care into the place. They offered advice on routes and things to do, and made sure we had what we needed. Our rooms were clean and looked after, and the whole property had a relaxed, homely feel that made it easy to unwind. Food was a highlight. Breakfast and dinner had lots of choice, everything was fresh and tasty, and it was clear the meals were prepared with care. There was coffee and tea available throughout the day, which was especially welcome when we got back from the slopes. We also loved the homemade bread and homemade smooshka. The location worked really well for our family, with ski slopes and ski schools nearby. After a full day skiing, it was great to get back quickly to somewhere warm and cozy. We'd happily recommend Eskapada for a family break, an active holiday or a quiet getaway, and we'd love to come back.

For 380 PLN, the stay wasn't up to scratch. The beds were two singles, even though the owner had promised us a double. At breakfast, the tables hadn't been cleared or made ready after earlier guests, so we cleaned ours ourselves and had to ask staff for clean plates. There were also problems in the room: the bathroom light switch was broken and could pose an electric shock risk, and the shower head holder wouldn't stay put, so we had to hold it while washing. I'm disappointed with the guesthouse.

We only had a weekend here, but it had the things we cared about, after the main attractions in Szklarska ;-): a handy location and a great room. It was clean, warm, well equipped, had a comfortable bed and a mountain view. The buffet breakfast was delicious and had a huge range of home-cooked food, so everyone should find something. The dining room looked like a restaurant, and was clean and nicely decorated. Staff and owners were both friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay at Willa Eskapada again if I came back to Szklarska. 🫶

Breakfast was fresh, varied and really tasty. We spent two nights here and loved the cozy, clean guesthouse. It's in a quiet neighborhood, close to the center of Szklarska Poręba and the hiking trails. The owner was very kind and helpful, and always ready with suggestions for things to see and do nearby. I'd recommend it, and we'd definitely come back.
