The old-place atmosphere is gorgeous, and I love places with history. I really didn’t expect such a clean, cozy, nice room for what I paid. When the sauna broke, the kind people here offered us the use of one at the owner’s other hotel. Everyone working here was very kind!

We chose not to stay the night in this run-down place. We were told it hadn’t been renovated since 1945 and had its heyday under German ownership. The building was turned into a hospital during World War II, and that’s exactly the feeling inside. For 190 PLN for a double room, I expected more than neglected rooms, a vomit stain in the hall, plaster falling from the ceiling, and mixed-gender showers. The Booking.com listing also says there’s a TV and telephone in the rooms, plus a sauna and billiards room, but those facilities are apparently at the owner’s other hotel a few kilometers away. The photos on Booking.com don’t all show this hotel, either; some are of that other property. That felt like blatant fraud, and advertising amenities at another location is a mockery of guests.

Breakfast was okay and came with a beautiful view of the Karkonosze Mountains. It cost 80 PLN per person including breakfast. The building is badly neglected, though, and I wouldn’t recommend it. It might do for one night only. The bathrooms bothered me most: they were in terrible shape, never cleaned, and had no disinfection. The rooms look like communist Poland and are terribly neglected. The higher the floor, the worse the resort seemed to get.
