The view from the living and dining areas and the open sleeping area was incredibly beautiful, and that’s probably why we’d still come back despite everything. The place was cozy and quiet, with no noticeable street noise, and about a 12-minute walk from the ski area. The large accommodation had a nice living area, washing machine, cooking utensils, sofa, TV, internet-enabled radio, and veranda. The price was very reasonable if you set aside the problems. There were serious issues with the electrics. Fewer than half the outlets worked, including 6 of 10 downstairs. The upstairs bathroom outlet worked only intermittently, and plugging something in made the sink light switch off. Eventually that light stopped working entirely. A floor lamp stayed on even when switched off. The hallway lamps didn’t work either, leaving it completely dark. The heating was incredibly loud, even at night, so it was nearly impossible to get peace in the open sleeping area. A warm bath meant setting the tap to its hottest and opening it only 50%. Fully open, the water was rather cold, so filling a bath took about 30 minutes. The small apartments’ showers had the same problem: they had to be opened to about 50% for consistently warm or hot water. Parking was chaotic, with spaces repeatedly assigned to guests even though no more than 5 of the 9 apartments were occupied at a time. You also need the key just to leave the apartment, which stops you forgetting it but can hardly be called an escape route. Several screws stick quite far out of the open-plan kitchen ceiling paneling, a problem if you cook without a lid and your pot catches one. The TV remote worked only sometimes, and then only some buttons worked. For all that, we’re giving it 3 out of 5 stars. The view was incredibly beautiful, and if you can adjust your expectations, you might approach the stay differently, for example by bringing your own power outlets.

It was clean and tidy, and the location is excellent, right at the trail entrance. The water pressure is a bit weak, so the bathtub doesn’t work. Asking politely for more towels seems standard these days, but apparently someone will give you a negative review for it.

The apartment was very nice, clean, and well equipped, and pets are allowed. The location is very good. The one drawback was how difficult it was to get in touch with the person looking after the apartment.

A lovely place in Szklarska, with no crowds and a peaceful, quiet feel. It’s near the forest and close to the center.
