I stayed alone in room no. 1, a single with its own bathroom, and arrived around 7 p.m. Getting in was easy. The quiet neighborhood and green space outside the villa made for a special feel, and the old photos inside should interest anyone into history. The room was clean and had what I needed: kettle and tea, fresh linens, a bin, a roomy wardrobe, TV, and bedside lamp. The heating was simple to use. There’s also a small kitchen with a kettle, fridge, cooking gear, microwave, tea, and other supplies. Some details could be better, but it’s not a five-star hotel where I’d fuss over every little thing. It’s a handy place if you’re out on the trails all day, and I’d come back for another solo mountain trip.

The location is excellent, about two minutes from the main promenade and a good base for all the routes. It’s two minutes to the net, three to the Frog, and there’s parking for around six cars. The place is cozy and simple, with a kettle and a few plates and cups in the room; the rest is in the shared kitchen on the mezzanine. The bathroom is fairly big, and there are a few towels.

One thing to keep in mind: don’t bring a low car. The property sits below street level, so scraping the bottom when driving in or out is a real risk. With a car that has enough clearance, it’s easy to enjoy this charming place. Everything was clean, and the shared kitchen was well stocked with pots in different sizes, pans, plates, cutlery, and spatulas. There are assigned shelves in the shared fridge for rooms without their own fridge. The electric stove has two burners, and there’s a microwave too. It’s near the tourist center and right by the green trail. We only saw the staff at check-in, so I can’t really comment on the service, though that did make the stay feel more private. The garden is large and probably has even more to offer in warmer weather. In September we could use the fire pit; loungers were set out by the entrance, and there’s a small playhouse on the grass for kids.

For a quick break in Szklarska Poręba, this lovely villa that’s more than 100 years old is a great choice. We’d happily recommend it.
