Oxygen Residence

The apartment was noisy at night, with traffic from cars and motorcycles coming through the poorly insulated windows. Outside, the window faced an old sealed-off building that looked like it needed renovation, and a dirt access road below was busy with cars throughout the day. Neither the view nor the constant noise suited a holiday apartment. Inside, the condition was also far below what we expected. We arrived in the morning to dust on tables, shelves, and other surfaces, plus an unpleasant smell. The kitchen utensils were dirty, so we had to run a full dishwasher cycle before using them. There was food left in the fridge and cupboards, the oven was too dirty to use, and the kettle had dirt and rust spots. We also found used soap and creams in the bathrooms. The towels smelled bad, so we bought our own. The bathroom mats looked and smelled as if they hadn't been washed in a long time, and we couldn't walk on them barefoot. The closets were packed with assorted linens and towels in different colors, brands, and fabrics; we had no idea who they belonged to. The sheets supplied at first were 100% polyester, uncomfortable, and seemed unclean to us. After we messaged twice, we got better replacements that were 60% cotton. The listing on Booking said there were two large double beds, but we found a small double bed and a fold-out sofa instead. The mattress was poor quality and badly sunken. One bathroom's shower was cramped, with nowhere to put soap or toiletries. Then, the day before we left, a live cockroach came out of a kitchen cupboard. We took a photo of it.
