People were drinking and partying every night, even though alcohol isn’t allowed, and my room was right beside the common room, so it got irritating. The window opens onto a balcony where everyone smokes, which left the room stuffy whenever I kept it shut. The hostel is quite a walk from downtown and the old town, around 30 or 40 minutes. It was fairly clean, and the bunk beds were clean and comfortable, but they squeaked loudly. The kitchen was nice, though the fridge was packed and some things seemed to be left in it too long.

Good price, cosy place, and a nice clerk. I only stayed one night before heading to Berlin. There’s a cheap top market just a minute away on foot. The kitchen has one microwave and no electric oven, but that was fine. I liked staying here.

The mattresses were soft, which was the one good thing. The place smelled bad and was very dirty, with a strange atmosphere and people. As a girl, I didn’t feel safe or comfortable. It seemed full of men workers who might have been living there, and they smoked. Everything felt odd. I’d call it a hostel for workers, not travellers.

The old town is walkable, though not close, and takes about 20 minutes by bus. The hostel was very clean, and the staff were lovely and helpful. It’s one of the best for the price and quality. I’d stay again.
