Don't book a night here. I paid for 7 people but got a room for 6, and now I've been waiting over two months for a response. They won't even take my calls.

The front desk staff were wonderful when we arrived, but that was about the end of the good points. The room was large yet felt bare and could use more decor. The dishes were dirty, and the place needed a deep clean. There was disgusting mold around the bath seals. For a longer stay, it might be all right depending on the price, since the room has a washing machine and dishwasher. But the standard wasn’t what I expected for Wroclaw.

The price is reasonable, but the apartment had no shampoo, salt, sugar, or coffee. The bedrooms had only beds and a bedside table, with no closet or even a chair for clothes. The room looked much nicer in the photo than it did in person.

Wroclaw itself impressed us with its architecture and history, but the apartment we booked through booking.com spoiled some of the visit. We’d chosen it for two nights through Booking, hoping for somewhere near the historic centre with parking and easy access to sights. Its reviews on the platform seemed fairly positive, which makes the experience all the more unfortunate. After more than seven hours on the road with the children, there was nowhere to park on the crowded street. We needed the gate key to use the parking, but even though we’d paid in full, our request was refused. My wife went inside to handle the paperwork and collect keys while I kept driving with the kids, then had to find my way back through unfamiliar streets in an unfamiliar city. That was a hard end to a long trip. The apartment wasn’t ready with basic supplies. There was a full roll of toilet paper, at least, but no soap, shampoo, dish soap, or dishwasher tablets. We didn’t cook much and had brought soap and shampoo ourselves, so we got by. I also missed the usual tea, coffee, and sugar. Then I realized there wasn’t even an electric kettle. There were loose doorknobs and creaky, wobbly chairs that could have been tightened with an ordinary IKEA hex key. Power outlets were hard to reach, hidden behind beds or sofas. A glass panel in the TV stand was shattered. Then the children found that the oven door was missing altogether, with a piece of its glass gone too. We ordered pizza and left some slices in the kitchen. In the morning, resident cockroaches had enjoyed it as well. Cockroaches!
