Wyndham Wroclaw Old Town

I barely slept here. The room had partial curtains, so there was no way to block out the morning sun, and I was woken by it at 7 am every day, even though I usually sleep past 10 am when traveling. I had booked a “superior room.” After the first night I asked the front desk to move me or provide light blocking curtains. They seemed not to understand the problem and said they couldn't do anything. The street bars were just as noisy as the reviews said. I was on the 5th floor, but it sounded like the windows were wide open, and the noise went on until the bars closed at 5am. Ear plugs were provided, but they only helped until the sunrise woke me. Wyndham Diamond members shouldn't expect the front desk to make an effort with concerns or requests. They seemed not to care. The “welcome amenity” was a couple of pieces of chocolate and some peanuts on a plate. I would not recommend the Wyndham Old Town Wroclaw. There are better nearby hotels for getting a good night's sleep, and the front desk gets an F for customer service.

The location was great, and breakfast was very good, even though it was overcrowded while we were there. The rooms were spacious, nice, and very clean. But our accessible room had such heavy doors that I couldn't open either the room or bathroom door myself. They could hurt you. We had two rooms, and the doors in the regular room were just as heavy. The hotel faces a nightclub, so you hear people partying loudly.

The location was strategic, with the main market just 200 m away, and we had a very good stay. Rooms were clean, well kept, and had the essentials. Room service staff were polite, quick, and really helpful. Reception was the weak point. The staff came across as rude and not very helpful, especially to tourists from other countries. Better reception service could make this a memorable stay for international travelers.

It's a good hotel in a great location, but a month after checkout they charged my card for cleaning, claiming we'd spilled blood on the carpet. They gave us no evidence, such as photos. Be careful. I've since read that they often do this, hoping it won't be noticed or challenged on the credit card statement.
