The location is the sole thing going for this place. The website photos make it look like it had just opened, but what we found was filthy and noisy. The bed was old, the sheets and pillowcases were yellow, and stains marked the walls with mold across the ceiling. There’s no sink in the room, so everything has to be washed in the bathroom sink. You can hear every sound through the main door, which made sleeping impossible, and the TV barely worked, with maybe one channel. The bathroom was especially bad. There were exposed cables in both the room and bathroom, the ventilation didn’t work, and mold was everywhere. The water heater was badly fitted and had cracked the tiles. Both the sink and shower are electric, which is ridiculous. Water also poured out from under the shower tray after we used it. The locks were so worn that at one point the door couldn’t be locked. There was no way to contact the staff, and I think only one woman works there. There’s no garbage sorting, despite notices all over the place. In the evening, the window looked out on a pile of garbage, with chaos all around. They should either close this place or renovate it completely and bring in new staff. I strongly advise against staying here.

Never again. The whole experience was a disaster, and I wouldn’t recommend it. I got a strange email first, saying I had apartment 24 with a balcony. When I called the woman managing the rooms, she told me I’d actually been assigned room 25, without a balcony. The view they called a Giewont view was outrageous, and the window faced a garbage-filled courtyard. The room itself was cramped and filthy. The hallway walls were dirty and full of holes, and the bathroom radiator had been ripped from the wall, leaving wires exposed. Mold covered the wall and ceiling around the ventilation grille. The water heater was barely attached and had cracked a tile. After a shower, water flooded out from under the tray. The shower tray was dirty and moldy too. The radiator hadn’t been vacuumed, and the bed looked as if its legs had been cut off. Don’t be taken in by the big TV: the only channel that came in was TVP Info, while the others were blocked or out of range. The thrift and stinginess of the highlanders are disgraceful.

I wouldn’t recommend the guesthouse. It smells like a dead body.
