Hotel Crocus

The staff were very kind, and the room cleaning was thorough and professional. The dining room team also deserves praise for their warmth and high level of service. Breakfast had a rich menu and the food was very tasty; the bar also offered a wide menu and alcoholic drinks. There’s private parking, plus a pool and spa with a jacuzzi, sauna, and massage services. It’s a great hotel for couples or families, and I highly recommend it for a vacation surrounded by nature in an amazing place.

This was my third enjoyable stay at Hotel Crocus, and it remains my first choice when I visit Zakopane. The restaurant has lots of options, including vegan and vegetarian food, and I highly recommend it. The hotel is close to the shopping and tourist district, as well as the ski lifts and cable car to the top of Kasprowy Wierch, which is breathtaking. The pool and hot tub were clean and relaxing, and I’d also recommend the spa services. The staff there were competent and professional. The rooms were clean, and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

The good points were the quiet, clean setting in a green area, with a small brook nearby that was pleasant at night. The massage was good, and the girls were lovely. That’s where the positives end. We didn’t meet a single smiling staff member. Even the receptionist who checked us in seemed very serious and unpleasant. The hotel is advertised as a luxurious wellness place, but really it has a small pool, small sauna, small steam room, and nowhere to sit or lie down and relax. We’d asked about vegan options before booking and said one of us was vegan. The choices were limited to one poor meal of rice and cauliflower. The meat dinner was poor too, with no menu or choice, not even between two dishes. Breakfast was a fairly rich buffet, and there were a few vegan options the first morning, but nothing the next day. When we asked the breakfast waitress, she said it wasn’t her problem and was between reception and the kitchen. That answer is unacceptable at a 2-star hotel, let alone a 4-star one. At checkout we told the receptionist about all of this, and she said she was sorry. We spent 1000euro for three people over 2 nights, including massages and drinks, and it definitely wasn’t worth it. We won’t return or recommend it.

We stayed just before Christmas, and it was quiet. The hotel is only a 15-minute walk from Krúpowki, and the staff were especially helpful, even suggesting places to visit. The service and setting were great. I loved the pool area. It has a jacuzzi for 4, a Finn sauna, a steam sauna, and a relaxation room. There’s a wide choice of massages, priced from 250-450 zloty for 30-90mins. Breakfast was amazing, tasty, and had plenty to choose from. We’ll definitely come back, and I can only recommend it!
