Hotel Grand Nosalowy Dwor

The family-friendly rooms are spacious and lovely, and the pools are nice with pleasantly warm water. It’s a beautiful complex with a lot going for it, and we were very satisfied with our stay at the 4-star Hotel Nosalowy Dwór. We’d recommend it and would like to return, but the maintenance details need attention. The wellness area has mold forming on the white plastic drain grates around the hot tubs, which feels unhygienic. Above the third tub, the one with stairs leading up to it, the ceiling is in terrible shape: paint is peeling, and it looks as if it could fall at any moment. It needs scraping and repainting. The room window frames and structures also need better cleaning. The games facilities were disappointing. The foosball table is missing player figures, so it can’t be used, and the beanbags and chairs by the Xbox consoles are badly worn out. It wouldn’t cost much to replace them. The kids’ play corner beside the gaming room was quite cold, despite the thermostat being set to 25 degrees, so the children had to dress more warmly. For billiards, reception gave us a broken ball rack, there was no chalk by the table, and the cues were broken or falling apart. It was completely unusable. These are small, avoidable issues for a hotel of this category, and fixing them would bring the place up to the standard its four stars suggest.

The hotel doesn’t accept EURO, which can be inconvenient. The service was pretty bad, and it was hard to communicate in English. Asking where to park led to three different answers from three staff members. I wasted two hours going back and forth for a card because the paper they first gave me didn’t work for parking, then the next card didn’t work either, so I had to return a third time to get one that did. A horrible first experience.

The food was always good, with plenty of choices, but the coffee from the machine in the morning wasn’t. I probably wouldn’t come back, especially if you want hot saunas and good coffee. All the saunas in the wellness area were cold. The Finnish one was between 86-91°C, so most of the time it was below 90, and the other saunas were barely ten degrees above room temperature. There was no cold plunge or proper outdoor seating area either. One of the indoor children’s play areas was closed during our stay for a conference.

The breakfast buffet alone made the stay worthwhile, with a huge range of choices and a live cooking station. It’s a lovely hotel, perfect for a small family. We’re two retired nomads, and enjoyed seeing families having fun. The hotel is a bit away from the main square, but the town is lively and fun, with lots of places to sit and people-watch. The city is clean, well-policed, and relaxing. A good place to get off life’s busy treadmill.
