Magnolia

We appreciated being able to check in late, and when we explained our concerns the next morning, the host listened and moved us to another room. In the first one, an electrical socket was right where our heads were on the pillows, with the windowsill directly above us, which made us uncomfortable. The change of room was appreciated. Breakfast was a letdown. In the morning there was nobody to welcome guests, and we had to search for someone just to get a glass of water. At checkout there was no hello or goodbye either, we handed back the key and left. Since it was Christmas, we had hoped for a warmer welcome. The location is excellent, and we liked the villa's traditional, charming exterior. Beyond that and the location, nothing else felt special. We were surprised by its very high rating because our stay didn't quite match it, though maybe we were simply unlucky. The stay was acceptable, but didn't meet our expectations.
