Willa Tatra House

We found this accommodation quickly through Booking, but the standard seemed to depend on which building had an available room. The place reminded me more of the communist era. Although it was supposedly booked through Booking.com, we only found out about the cash payment when we arrived. The owner didn't even bring up a receipt. For 720 PLN I don't expect much from accommodation, but payment details and proof of payment should have been made clear right on arrival. The phone number had been provided before we got there.

We chose this place for our large family after it was recommended to us, as eight of us were planning to go to Tatra House. The night before arrival, the two youngest in the family came down with a fever, so I asked the host whether we could cancel without a fee. He understood and agreed, even though that clearly meant lost income for him. I believe good things come back 🫶🏻

I arrived with my luggage after booking this hostel a month ahead, only to be told the reservation had been cancelled because the place had been rented to a group. Nobody contacted me beforehand by phone or email, and all I got was "sorry." A reservation should be honored if it's accepted. The owner took no responsibility, and I was left without somewhere to stay. This was an awful experience, and the place felt extremely unreliable and unprofessional. Avoid it.

The hosts and staff are very kind, and dinner is easy to sort out, especially with Ms. Kasia cooking. There are rooms for groups of 2, 3, 4, or 5, plus nearby shops. You also get a little playground and a place to sit, and the recreation center is near mountain trails. I highly recommend it.
