Kasztelania Pod Lipami

My son and I felt so at ease that the stay ended up feeling more like visiting family than being at a hotel. The big back garden had a trampoline, toys and a ball, so we played football the next morning while waiting for my husband to arrive at Modlin. We also felt safe exploring the living room and garden. I’d been stranded at Modlin with my son and our suitcases after discovering the hired car was in my husband’s name. Rather than take public transport to our lodge in Mazury with my eight-year-old, I looked for somewhere nearby to spend the night until he could join us. I found Kasztelania on Booking.com, called the owner, and he accepted a last-minute phone booking a few hours before check-in, even though it was meant to be his day off. There were two rooms to choose from. For one night I picked the downstairs room with a private toilet and shared bathroom rather than the room with its own shower. The bathroom was very clean, spacious, and had an iron and ironing board; I’m sure the owner would have let us use them if needed. The room had everything we needed: a large double bed, a single bed, nightstands, an armchair, kettle, table and two chairs, tea, coffee, cups, mugs, cutlery, plates, TV and Wi-Fi. There was a lovely view from the side window, too. The beds and spacious room were clean and comfortable, and the garden was a great place to relax with a book or let kids run around. It’s a charming, quiet, green spot close to the airport, with grocery shops and a pizzeria a short walk away. A taxi costs around 40-50 PLN depending on traffic. The owner was very helpful and accommodating, and there was tea and coffee in the room.
