Accommodation Stop and Sleep

We couldn't get any rest because of late-night noise, including loud conversations and a dog barking until 2:00 AM. We reported it twice, first by phone and then in person, and asked to change rooms, but they refused. We were exhausted and frustrated. The next day, a different receptionist struggled with English and seemed unaware of our earlier complaints. We explained everything and left our email, but never heard back. A refund had been promised and wasn't given. Even after a month, nobody from the hotel had contacted us. The silence and lack of follow-up made an already awful stay worse. I strongly advise against staying at [Hotel Name].

There were a few good points: the staff were helpful and friendly, speaking Polish and German; guest parking was free and monitored by video; and there was free Wi-Fi plus a 24-hour hot drinks station. The bedsheets were clean and had no smell, which matters to me. But if you need a quiet night's sleep at a stopover, I'd avoid this hotel. Finding it was confusing because the building wasn't clearly marked and there were no directions from the street. You have to enter through the Orlen gas station. We booked a budget room, small but with what you need for a stop, yet the low price doesn't excuse the cleanliness. The room smelled strongly of cigarettes mixed with cleaning products, even though the rules say smoking is prohibited and a fee applies to remove the smell. We couldn't clear the odor because the window wouldn't open. When tilted, it let in fumes, presumably from the nearby gas station. The room needed a deep clean: there were stains on the walls, carpet, and curtains, and the heater was very dusty, perhaps moldy. It was also loud. We heard the neighbors, doors closing, toilets flushing, and snoring. Not what you need when you're trying to stop and sleep. Not a good experience, and I wouldn't recommend it unless things change.

Just what we needed for a stop near the German border: the hotel was clean and comfortable without costing much. The staff were nice, and the room worked well for the five of us. In the evening there were free hot and cold drinks and light food. Recommended!

It's a fair value stopover hotel. The rooms are decent, though nothing special, and there's no bar or restaurant apart from breakfast. The beds were the main problem: we woke up with sore backs, which isn't great when you're traveling.
