I loved my month at Mares Guesthouse so much that I booked another two weeks. The ocean views from the rooftop are spectacular. I didn't need or want service while I was there, but the property manager, Angelo, was a gracious host. Fantastic stay.

After a bad experience with booking .com and arriving late, we were glad to find somewhere easy and comfortable to stay. The room was tiny, but it's so close to the beach that I could hear the ocean 😭. Not the best, but it worked for us.

Room 8's rooftop view was awesome. The house itself was average, not very clean or updated, though the air conditioning worked well. The Wi-Fi didn't work. Noise was awful: nearby bars were extremely loud, and the walls were so thin it sounded like people with speakers were right outside.

I had a great stay and would come back. It's an older hotel at an affordable price, and after Irma I wasn't expecting everything to be perfect, even right on the beach. Angelo went out of his way to help us feel comfortable. The cheaper rooms don't have microwaves or refrigerators yet, but he'll lend you a cooler and stores are close by. I snorkeled, surfed, and fished, and Rincon is very close. They'll leave a key for you if you arrive late.

We'd happily stay again in the future. We were there for two nights, and the room was very clean. The location and relaxing view were nice, and getting into the room was easy with the clear instructions. The host was very nice and always reachable when we had questions. I'd recommend this place to anyone 🙂
