We couldn't use the room because my disabled mother could not manage the stairs to the second floor. There was no ramp, and the website hadn't mentioned that. We tried to cancel as soon as we discovered this, but they refused a refund and charged her for two nights, even though she only needed one. She had made the reservation and got taken, in my view. They provided no service to us, yet charged a disabled senior citizen for both days. I can see why people might call this a scam. The room smelled moldy and the building looked abandoned when we arrived. It felt like a shack covered in sheetrock, and the online photos were misleading. The rooms are upstairs, and the place was empty. Across the street, a store was noisy. Nothing about the property felt attractive, comfortable, or welcoming. It was a dump, and not the kind of Puerto Rican welcome we hoped to find on La Isla Encantada. We found much better accommodations nearby at Tio Pepe's. It was cleaner, less expensive, had a restaurant on site, and a ramp for disabled guests. If you're in Aibonito, don't waste your money here or let this place discourage you from enjoying the charming little town. Buena Suerte!

I called about the Wi-Fi not connecting in my room, and the representative gave me an attitude, saying it was only 2:10 and check-in wasn't until 3:00 p.m. That was 50 minutes before the stated time, but another hotel representative had called me while I was leaving the airport to confirm check-in. I told her my flight landed a little early, and she said the room was ready and I could come in. My flight had arrived earlier than expected, so I thought checking in then was fine. Bad experience from the start.

The room was nice, though the bathroom could use an update. The concrete vents to the outside were covered with a plastic sheet taped in place instead of a regular glass window, so I could hear everything outdoors. The coqui frogs were soothing, and an occasional car passed, but loud cars and speakers sometimes woke me up at night. I spent three nights there with my wife, and nobody else was in the building. I know no one else was staying then, but it felt eerie and a bit spooky, especially with a cemetery nearby. Aibonito Hotel is more like an Airbnb or hostel than a traditional hotel, with around six rooms upstairs and a shared lounge with couches. Arriving at night, the building was dark, and the ground floor looked like storage or an abandoned space. I wasn't sure how to get my key, so I called the number they gave me, but no one answered. I'm not sure whether or when they called back. On our final night, we came back from a day at the beach to find there was no water in the room. I couldn't shower, brush my teeth, or flush the toilet. I called the reservation number, and they called back to ask for details. They messaged that someone would check the problem the next morning. I checked out the next morning and there was still no water.

There was no light when we arrived, and the place wasn't clean.

The price was too high, and there was no hot water. I told the hotel, and they said maintenance would be sent, but nobody ever showed up. Someone in the building also told me a previous guest had complained about the water in that unit, and nothing had been fixed.
