The wedding weekend itself had no support at all. We ended up cleaning the property ourselves, got no help with the venue, and on the wedding day there was no running water. My husband couldn’t even shower there. What should have been a joyful, once-in-a-lifetime weekend was weighed down by stress and uncertainty, and we felt completely disregarded. The unprofessionalism, negligence, and lack of care were staggering. I can’t recommend this place. Stay far away. We booked the hotel for 4 days / 5 nights for our wedding. Six months beforehand, we signed a contract with the manager and paid the required 50% deposit. We had a signed agreement and receipt, so we thought everything was secured. A month before the wedding, my fiancée and I were onsite with our coordinator sorting out last-minute details when we ran into the owner. We asked for Mario, the manager we’d been working with for over six months, and learned he had left and there was a new manager. Nobody had called or emailed us about this major change, despite all the promises Mario had made. When we introduced ourselves to Jennifer and gave her our dates, she said there was no wedding on the calendar and asked us to call her. My heart sank. Before calling, I sent her our signed contract. She said it wasn’t valid because Mario, the former manager, had signed it rather than the owner. We were then four weeks from the wedding, with friends and family traveling from all over the world and thousands of dollars already paid to vendors. The owner said the price we’d been given was “too low,” that he didn’t want to host our wedding, and tried to cancel it altogether. With vendors paid, guests about to arrive, and no time to move elsewhere, we had no real option but to beg to keep the event. He agreed only after charging us more, knowing we had zero leverage. Jennifer then had us sign another contract, which, incredibly, neither she nor the owner signed.

The owner and manager kept making excuses for the septic problems and blamed us, claiming we flushed the toilets too much. The septic backed up into the rooms, and the water kept going out. The owner told me directly, “if you don’t like it then leave but we don’t do refunds ever.” We’d booked the whole hotel for a party 8 months ahead and had a signed contract. Less than 30 days before the event, they said we’d have to pay $2,000 more for it to go ahead. With 30 guests flying in and a lawsuit meaning we’d have to cancel the whole event, they knew we had no choice. They extorted us. Don’t give these people your money. They’re thieves and liars.

I’m mostly hoping I don’t get a lung infection from the mold in that unit. I should’ve checked the air conditioner more closely and left as soon as I saw tiny roaches in the fridge, but they won’t refund your money. The pool was nice. I’m puertorrican, and I don’t consider that stretch proper beach area. There’s a beach a couple minutes away by car. It’s pretty isolated, and Doordash doesn’t deliver there. There were no toiletries, the towels were stained, and the air conditioner was broken. I’m pretty sure it leaked moldy water on me.

The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and full of character, with care put into the details. Right by the beach, the location has gorgeous ocean views and a peaceful, authentic feel. We were welcomed warmly from the moment we arrived. Yukayeke Playa exceeded all expectations, a hidden gem in paradise! Whether you want to relax, spend time in nature, or experience local culture, this place has it all. Highly recommend it for a unique, memorable stay!

My reserved stay at Yukayeke Beach Resort was July 24th to July 26th, but when I arrived to check in, the office was closed. I tried reaching the administration several times, and it took about two hours for someone to show up. Then I was told my reservation had been canceled because of a corporate booking, leaving me and another family in a difficult spot. Staff offered alternative hotels, which I appreciated, but when I tried contacting those places, they reportedly hadn’t heard from Yukayeke Beach Resort. That made the experience a significant departure from what I’d expected based on the resort’s reputation. I also found it frustrating trying to get assistance, and the interaction with staff was unsatisfactory. I’m disappointed by the experience and hope this feedback helps improve things. I sincerely hope no other guests have to go through the same situation. Thank you for your attention. I look forward to a response and hope to see positive changes in guest service.
