BOHO Beach Club

I went on my own and had the best time. The staff were so friendly and helpful. When I couldn't arrange a cab to the airport, one of them stayed on the phone with me until I could get one. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely return. The rooms are beautiful, the pool is amazing, and the food is great. My one complaint is that once the restaurant closes, there's nothing to eat or drink.

The woman who checked us in was lovely, the one positive for me. The hotel is clean, but it feels very peculiar and has no personality. The pool area isn't welcoming, and there are no umbrellas for shade. It feels like a concrete jungle, which is so odd. The parking area needs work, and there's a lot that could be done to make the place feel welcoming. I work at a small bed and breakfast, and trust me, there's plenty of room for improvement. When I booked, I asked about an upgrade and said I was willing to pay. We ended up in another building, and I never brought up the upgrade again.

The staff were very nice, but the hotel itself was just okay, nothing particularly nice. They didn't reply to my messages in the booking app or answer the phone, even as my inbox kept filling with generic emails saying they looked forward to seeing me. In the room I had, there wasn't a single hanger, not even one for towels.

I love the hotel, especially the restaurant. Early risers can get good coffee at 7 am, and food from 8 am. But I'm on my second day of cold showers because there's no hot water. The solar heater only works when it's sunny. It rained yesterday afternoon, but today is sunny and the water's still cold. I think tomorrow I'll drive to Planet Fitness in Cabo Rojo to shower. They need a backup electric water heater.
