The pool had shallow and deep areas, and the complex also has playground equipment, basketball courts, workout gear, grills, picnic tables, and a gazebo. Security seemed plentiful, and we never had trouble with street noise. It's a quick walk to the clean, beautiful beach, beach bars, restaurants, shops, and gas stations. Beach chairs cost $5 to rent and umbrellas are $10. The airport is about 10 minutes away, Old San Juan and the Fortress around 20, and the Juan Diego Trail in El Yunque Rainforest about an hour away. We paid a good price booking in the fall and would gladly return and recommend it. We stayed in unit 1106 at Marbella West (Oeste) in late March, a two bedroom, two bathroom place. Our unit was cleaner, cuter, and more updated than the other family units we saw, though theirs were clean and functional too. It had views from every room, a pantry, washer and dryer, and a new patio door. There was always hot water. Kitchen supplies included a basic coffee maker with some coffee and sugar, possibly a French press in the top cabinet, toaster, microwave, cookware and tableware, plus seasonings, cleaners, soaps, and shampoo. Plenty of towels and linens, blankets, and pillows were provided, along with sunscreen, bug spray, aloe, a few sand toys, and two low beach chairs. There was enough room for our family of five, two adults, a six and three year old, and a baby. The trash room was directly across the hall and didn't smell. A garage clicker and assigned parking made things easy with our rental car. There were a few problems. Our unit didn't have an oven, the fob door handle latch often stuck, and the window shade pulls came loose when we tried opening them. The fridge rattled on the first day, which I reported to the hostess by day two, then it stopped working a few days later. It was Sunday and the main number wasn't working, so I called the emergency number, got no answer, and left a message. We had to throw out everything in the fridge and freezer. They didn't contact us until the next morning, and a repair person didn't arrive until 6:00 pm that evening.
