San Juan Airport Hotel

The room was roomy, the bed was good, and I slept really well. Breakfast was better than expected, and there's a Coke machine in the breakfast area. The location is great, and getting an Uber is easy. I'd stay here again. It's mostly a no-frills hotel, but it surprised me in a few ways. The front desk gets very busy, and staff can be overwhelmed when lots of people are waiting to check in. The breakfast room can also run out of seats if you come in the final 30 minutes. The first time I turned on the sink, the water looked slightly yellow, though it wasn't like that afterward. I stuck with bottled water anyway. The tub and shower floor felt strange, like there was water underneath the fiberglass.

There was an on-site restaurant, a self-serve laundry room, vending machines, and ice machines. The front desk clerks were friendly and engaging, and people were using the waiting area. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the air conditioning was super cold, and the shower was hot. I didn't hear planes taking off or landing, or maybe I was tired. Renovations were underway at the hotel. It's inside the terminal. If you're dropped off outside the terminal, it's a short walk from the dept of agriculture check in. Don't get dropped at the jetblue terminal, that's a long walk. A good stay, especially if you have an early am flight.

After booking eight months ahead and losing the full cost of two rooms, we felt customer service and reasonable accommodation for extraordinary circumstances weren't a priority here. The hotel wouldn't refund us or give a credit, citing its strict no-refund policy. Be aware that a major disruption outside your control may still cost you the whole payment. Our flight to Puerto Rico was canceled in January 2026 because a U.S. military operation disrupted Caribbean airspace and shut down flights for about 24 hours. We couldn't reach Puerto Rico in time for our stay. We had booked the two rooms through Paisly while buying our airfare, and the disruption was completely outside our control. We understand that policies exist, but it was extremely disappointing that the hotel showed no flexibility. We didn't voluntarily cancel or simply change our plans. The rest of the trip worked out: our airline refunded our airfare, and our cruise line rescheduled the cruise. Read the fine print carefully before booking.

When our flight was canceled during the US Military Operation in Venezuela, which closed all airspace, the San Juan Airport Hotel and its staff were a Godsend. We were delayed for two days, and I was quite ill with a terrible stomach flu. The staff kindly helped me find a room where I could rest and recover. The hotel was incredibly convenient, and the bed was very comfortable. Once I felt better, I could resume traveling. I can't say enough good things about the staff or the Puerto Rican people.
