Ponce Plaza Hotel & Casino

We had a spacious room with a balcony, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The temperature was hard to manage. I don’t understand why 68 is considered comfortable, and the eco-friendly note about towels would make more sense if they adjusted the temperature instead. We could turn it up, but an override would kick in and put us back in our walk-in cooler. The water seemed to be kept cool too, since getting a hot shower was impossible. I wouldn’t add breakfast next time. It only gives you access to a limited menu at the restaurant, with no real advantage over simply paying for breakfast. The restaurant is fine, but the options are limited, and going elsewhere would mean paying for a second breakfast.

We go to Ponce often, and this is by far the nicest hotel in town. The rooms are consistently clean and comfortable, and the staff are incredibly friendly and hospitable. The breakfast option is a nice bonus. The parking validation process can be annoying at first. Once you get into a routine, though, it’s not too bad.

An old-world hotel right in the center of Ponce, with modern room amenities that still keep the traditional feel. There are restaurants all around. The casino was cool, clean, and cheap, the staff were amazing, and breakfast was nice. The attached parking garage made coming and going easy.

The walls and windows are very thin, so ask for a room away from the street unless you want to hear every little noise outside. The pool is tiny, and the hotel shades it, so there’s no place to sunbathe. Coffee and breakfast are available at the adjoining restaurant. The exterior is colonial and well kept, while the interior is modern. It’s in the heart of the colonial district. One side note about Ponce: there isn’t much going on. Many businesses have closed, and most that remain open only operate Thursday through Sunday. If you’re looking for a lively scene with lots of people, Ponce isn’t it.
