The Fox Hotel

The place looks nice at night, but the room wasn’t worth it. The door was badly bent and wouldn’t lock, and on the first day a housekeeper opened it while we were sleeping. The chair in room 14 was dirty, and there were hairs on our pillow. They charged $50 for a plastic key without telling us beforehand. There was no pool or parking. Manager Jose was unfriendly and wouldn’t hear out the problems. One star only because I can’t give none.

Liz welcomed us at check-in and was really helpful in getting us settled. The people working here do a great job, and we’ll be back soon. It was my first visit to this colorful hotel, and I was amazed by how the theater I used to visit about 50 years ago had been converted. Keep up the good work.

The staff were accommodating and prompt, which I appreciated. But if you’re hoping for a good night’s sleep, I wouldn’t recommend this place. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, and I kept waking up to change position. By morning my back and neck were sore. The blankets were small, more like throws, and the shower had virtually no water pressure. The hotel was cheap, and it showed. The rooms had bright colors but only one bulb, and there was just one outlet for charging. Maybe people come here to party rather than sleep. I guess you get what you pay for.

Parking was easy, in a nearby lot for a partner hotel, and the staff were friendly. We only stayed one night, but found it a very cool hotel. The comic book theme was cute, and the messages on the doors resonated with us during the trip. The courtyard and lobby are gorgeous. The shower pressure was low, the one flaw, but we’d recommend the place and stay again.
